FAQs

How frequently do I need to have sessions?

Typically we would meet weekly, as this allows the therapeutic relationship to work at it’s best, and is the best way to keep your progress moving forward. However, weekly sessions aren’t always the best fit for everybody, and alternatives can always be discussed.

How long is a counselling session?

Each session lasts 50 minutes.

How many counselling sessions will I need?

The answer to this will be different for every individual. I recommend an initial minimum of 6 sessions to allow our work to evolve. After that it is easier for you to make an informed decision about whether or not you wish to continue your counselling. If you continue beyond the first six sessions the period over which we work becomes open ended until we end by agreement.

Do we have to meet in person?

If meeting in person isn’t possible for you, or doesn’t suit your needs, I also offer online or phone sessions as well. For more information, see my counselling services page.

What if I can’t make it to a session?

Please notify me in good time if you will be unable to attend a session. Unfortunately, if less than 24 hours’ notice is given, you will still be charged for the session, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Are you a member of the BACP?

Yes, I am a register member of the the BACP (Number 390759).

How much does a session cost?

My standard fee is £45 per session.

Do you offer any reduced rates?

Yes, I am able to offer concessionary rates in certain circumstances. Please contact me for more information about this.
